Falling victims to burn is something we all have experienced at some point in our life. The burns could be through steam, hot bath water, curling iron, or being too close to the stove etc. burn can also resulted due to touching a live wire, or due to bleach, or cleaning agents etc. depending upon the rate at which burnt occurred, burns can be of first-degree, second-degree and third degree. While first-degree burns are considered to be mildest one, second-degree burns are the more serious kind. And third-degree burns are considered to be one of the most serious kinds which affect the layers of the skin and also the underlying tissue.
Often burns are minor and it can be treated at home. Here are some home remedies for burns.
- Use cold water and vinegar compress to stop the burning sensation. And once the pain subsides apply potato slices. This method works well on first degree burns.
- Apply honey over the burns once it is cooled by running water or ice cubes. Honey facilitates the healing of burn.
- Betel leaves helps in the healing process of burns. Crush betel leaves along with sugar and apply it on the burnt area.
- Aloe Vera plant has a great quality of healing, so if its juice is applied on the affected area you can easily get relief from the burn.
